The Double Swing window, designed by Blairs Windows & Doors provides the classic appearance of a traditional Sash & Case window – including stepped sashes and top sash horns – yet offers modern functionality and a cost-effective solution.
The Double Swing offers a solution where buildings of character can be refurbished with a modern high performance timber window. On new build developments, the Blairs Double Swing window provides classic styling with contemporary design features.
Both of the stepped upper and lower sashes are top hinged to swing outwards for ventilation and then reverse to assist with cleaning from within the building.
A variant with an inward opening side hung lower sash is also available.
As an option, we can also provide versions that have been independently tested and certified to the enhanced security PAS24 level, which meets the Secured by Design criteria.

As standard, our glazing system works optimally at keeping the warmth in, the noise out and is highly secure. However, you may have one of the following requirements, for which we can modify the specification to give you the performance you require:
Acoustic
We can increase the acoustic specification of the glass to provide a greater noise reduction.
Thermal
We can fit a higher performance glazing unit, for increased thermal efficiency.
Security
We are able to fit laminated security glass if you are concerned certain windows could be an entry point for criminals.
Obscure Glass
We can supply these in a wide range of patterns.
Integral Blinds
We can install integral blinds inside the glazing unit. These are simple to operate and require no cleaning.
We can supply a wide range of designs and styles including leaded, coloured and stained glass finishes.
Multi-pane items can be created by sub-division with 22, 27 or 50mm astragals/glazing bars, to the desired configuration.
